070515 Tuesday Prayer Breakfast with Christian Attorneys Doug Vogel and Paul Burkett

Paul Burkett is a Montgomery, Alabama attorney and his friend, Doug Vogel is just beginning his law practice. Both have a wonderful testimony of their Christian witness.

Doug Vogel is native of Alabama and a newly admitted member of the Alabama State Bar. He is currently an associate attorney in the Law Offices of Tom Kotouc of Montgomery. He is 43. He was confirmed a Christian in the Lutheran church as a youth, but says he first had a truly personal relationship with Jesus Christ 13 years later at the age of 25. While working as a banker with the United Carolina Bank in North Carolina he went through several years of spiritual struggle and development including baptism of the Holy Spirit. He then joined the Church of Christ, attended the Harding School of Biblical Studies, where he met his wife. He was a Youth Pastor for three years before beginning law studies at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law on the campus of Faulkner University at the age of 39. His basic theological reflect about his career as an attorney is that God wants committed Christians as lawyers, doctors, factory workers, police officers . . . in every profession (even full time church related ministries). For further inquiry about his message email.

Paul Burkett is a Montgomery, Alabama native and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar and to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama in 1994. Paul attended Auburn University at Montgomery where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1987. Paul also attended the Jones School of Law in Montgomery where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1994. He was selected First Year Class Senator for the Student Bar Association. He served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Lynn Clardy Bright in the Montgomery County District Court. He has been a part of the Montgomery Area Association of Realtors since 1988. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Baptist Retirement Centers and he has served as the Chairman of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and Vice Chairman of the Elder Law Section of the Alabama State Bar Association. His practice areas include Real Estate & Probate, Business Entities, Contracts and General Litigation. Most importantly for purposes of this presentation Paul is a bi-vocational youth pastor at Highland Avenue Baptist Church at 1900 Highland Ave, Montgomery, Alabama.
