071012 Friday Focus - Eva Newman, First White House of the Confederacy
Eva Newman is the director at the First White House of the Confederacy and other tourist information in Montgomery, Alabama.
In this podcast Eva tells of her love for America. As a young girly Eva immigrated in the early 1950's with her family to the United States on a banana that landed in New Orleans (the other port of entry for immigrants). They had just gone through over four years of terrible persecution and imprisonment because her father refused to cooperate with the communist officials in turning over his business in Czechoslovakia. Eva also tells of losing her husband to the Vietnam war and raising four sons alone.
