070330 Friday Focus with Angelo V. Trimble


Angelo V. Trimble is married and has two children and three grandchildren. He is a deacon in his church and member of the Montgomery Kiwanis.
He currently serves as Court Liaison for the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence in the development of coordinated community responses to domestic violence and resources for judicial officials.
He retired from the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts in September 1998, having served for 17.5 years as director of the Municipal Court Division and 2.5 years as director of the Judicial Study Commission.
Angelo Trimble serves as a resource to the Alabama Judicial College. He has served on several local, state and national committees and projects and has compiled several technical booklets and articles in the area of Domestic Violence, including the booklet "Domestic Violence: Peace on Earth Begins at Home." He was the principal staff writer for the workgroup on development of judicial guidelines on domestic violence, soon to be published. He is the lead Coalition staff member working on the Southeastern expansion of the Passport to Safety project, as well as the national extension of the Passport project by the National Center for State Courts.
He has served in various roles related to domestic violence for the Alabama Law Institute, National Center for State Courts, National Criminal Justice Association, Family Violence Prevention Fund, Battered Women's Justice Project, and National Council for Juvenile an Family Court Judges.

In this recorded presentation, Angelo gives his historical review of the Chief Justices of the Alabama Supreme Court under whom he has served. His premise is that each of those judges were the right person of the job at the right time so as to provide improvements and appropriate visioning for the court system in Alabama.
