070216 Friday Focus with Sam Persons-Parkes
Sam Persons-Parkes presents a living testimony about how we may share Christ in our community by making room for Christ as God made room for us to create the world, by making light of our circumstances and receiving blessing according to Christ’s sacrifice, and by making “nice” by showing how we can be a blessings in spite of the worlds indictment that we are stupid (the original meaning of {nice”).
This opportunity has give Sam a chance to communicate how he choses to practice the Lenten vigil. "How am I going to observe Lent?" When Sam confesses his inability to observe Lent in this way because of his parental duties with very young children, then he choses to find parental ways to change and edify himself through sacrifice from simple activities like internet access (limited to 30 minutes per day).
Sam’s points out that his early parenthood has taught him how to find ways to practice Lent by "Making Room (Mark 10), Making Light (2 Corinthians 4), and Making Nice.
